How to wear RED this Fall

High-voltage hits of fiery red lend an up-to-the-minute edge to  this fall's ensembles. This season, make an entrance in bold red and crimson pieces.

Balance a body-skimming red sweater with skinny jeans, neutral pumps and statement jewelry (necklace, bangles, or earrings) for a flexible, wear-it-anywhere ensemble.

Make a STATEMENT

"Statement Necklaces" are huge (literally- the bigger, the better!).
They've been a big trend for several years now, and I have to ask-
"Are they here to stay?"  Personally, I think the answer is "Yes!"

Why are we so obsessed with these big chunky pieces?

Two answers immediately come to my mind:

One: They express our unique fashion sense, and empower us to unapologetically flaunt it! There are a million design possibilities with statement necklaces: color, texture, material, length and drape. We can dramatically display our appreciation for the avant-garde, not to mention having a guaranteed topic of conversation!

Two: They are surprisingly easy to wear! Dress them up with an elegant gown, or go casual with faded jeans and a tee: both combos work with a statement necklace!  Nothing is better than looking completely put together by simply pulling in one accessory.  Don't believe me? Check these out:

"Statement Necklaces" spark my imagination and get my creative juices flowing! Their construction is fascinating, and their possibilities are endless. Plus, put one on and they're just fun!

Dress for your Body Shape

There are four basic body types universally recognized to communicate about fashion. Understanding your frame is the first step in creating an overall silhouette and identifying clothing styles that will fit best and be most naturally flattering to your figure. Sure, your measurements will change over a lifetime. But your fundamental body shape probably won't. Your body type is a combination of bone structure and genetics that remains pretty constant through life.

pear body type:
Your upper body is noticeably smaller than your lower body. If you were to gain five pounds, four of them would go to your hips and thighs.

apple body type:
Your upper body is noticeably larger than your lower body. Not only that, but if you were to gain five pounds, four of them would go to your waistline.

hourglass body type:
You're very curvy with a cleardefined waist. If you were to gain five pounds, they would distribute evenly amongst your well proportioned curves.

 rectangle body type:
\Your figure is straight up and down, without a lot of curves. If you were to gain five pounds, they would distribute evenly throughout your frame.

wine red L I P S

A dark burgundy lip makes a deep impact, so keep the rest of your makeup simple with pale blush and shadow. Choose a bold wine shade, such as Russian Red by M.A.C, Fire Engine Red by Bobbi Brown, or Saint Sinner by Lipstick Queen and sex it up (tastefully) with a dab of clear gloss on the center of the bottom lip.

Enigmatic, Strong & Powerful P O L I S H

Nail polish has always been a small stroke that makes a big statement. If you plan for it, it will make your outfit.   If you skip it, you’ll be ignoring an inexpensive way to make a stylish statement.
This fall 2011, nail polish trends are made up of myriad of options, from dark and luxurious to classy and understated. Fall-perfect polish shades are just too delicious to ignore and will compliment cool weather fabrics. Envision a rich eggplant paired with a tweed jacket, delicate mauve that compliments dreamy lace, or powerful maroon that enhances suede.
You’ll be surprised at the mood boost that the right nail polish can give you.

b a r e l y NUDE...

I don't know if you've noticed that powder pink/beiege color is an indispensable part of most designer's collections this season. If you are going for a sophisticated look and want to look effortlessly chic then this is the perfect color for you…

This beautiful tone does not draw attention away from a woman's beauty and it allows a woman to wear her fashions instead of the fashion's wearing her. You may combine your favorite nude clothing with gold, black or even red as complementary tones. The day look can easily be turned into an evening outfit with the simple change of accessories and shoes.

"There is nothing on a woman more beautiful than having them wear their essence or skin tone." Celebrity stylist David Zyla

Colour Blocking

Colour block fashion is one of the hottest new trends for the season. It combines the use of two or more blocks of colour in an ensemble. This could be for a top, bottom, tunic, a dress and even a handbag or shoes. Simply it means – creating an outfit by putting areas or blocks of solid color next to each other. It can include monotone, bright colours, muted colors, contrasting and complimentary colors. Clothes, shoes, handbags and accessories can all feature color block designs or can make up different blocks of color to be put together for a color block outfit.

  • Don’t be shy to experiment. Any color combination is fantastic if you can pull it off properly. Blue, green and orange sounds mad but will look oh-so-pretty.
  • Do not combine more than three to four colors. It’s not that it doesn’t look nice, but it looks very ‘ramp’ish. Moreover more colors will keep cutting your body shape here and there making it a not so beautiful sight.
  • Choose what you want to color block and keep the rest of your look simple. For example, if you opt for a colorblocked bag, go easy on the clothes and shoes. You don’t want to look like a Rubik cube, do you??
  • Never ever ever combine two color blocked items. This is the worst thing to do to this trend. No actually you can, its just that you will end up looking like the latest catalogue of Asian paints.
